So ... last month I decided that I'm going to run with some fellow Yahoo!'s ... in the San Francisco Marathon. Fortunately ... they give the option of running a 1/2 marathon ... which is much more to my liking.
I started in training May ... and felt pretty good about my progress ... until last week ... when I totally bailed on my skateboard ... and tore up the tip of my big toe.
Not a pretty site.
So ... it's been nearly two weeks now ... and my toe is still pretty cruddy looking. I'm afraid to hammer it with a long run ... so ... i've totally been slacking on my training.
I ran four miles yesterday ... but ... at this point ... I should be up to six miles. Of course ... my poor toe was bloody and macerated afterwards. So ... what's a girl to do??? Should I sacrifice my big toe just for training??? I don't think so ...
